COLORS AS THERAPY

Aura Chloe Luciana Lundhus' journey into colorful interior design began when she moved into her current home. Surrounded by white walls and sharp lines, she felt the need to create something that nourished the soul. "It became a form of therapy for me," she explains, describing how colors and art brought her a new sense of joy. Her home is a playground of shades and textures, where every corner reflects her creative experiments. The excitement she found in colors and aesthetics led her to share her passion with others, inspiring them to embrace vibrant interiors in their own homes.

Our guide offers colourful interior design inspiration and practical takeaways for designing your dream home.

BALANCING ENERGY AND HARMONY

When choosing colors for her home, Aura Chloe draws inspiration from nature’s palettes, thrift store finds, and artists who dare to think differently. She also lets emotions and moods guide her, creating spaces that speak to the senses. "I tune in to what I want the room to give me," she says. Her approach is intuitive and personal—some may find her home overwhelming, while others feel uplifted by the bold colors and compositions.

Every piece in her home is carefully selected and holds a story, but if she had to pick a favorite, it would be her two Hans J. Wegner dining chairs, inherited from her grandfather. These chairs are more than just furniture—they carry memories and a deep connection to her family. It’s this mix of nostalgia and aesthetics that makes her interior design so unique.

SUSTAINABLE INTERIOR WITH SOUL

Sustainability is a cornerstone of Aura Chloe’s decorating philosophy. Her original idea was to sell colorful second-hand finds, but over time, it became a lifestyle. She loves treasure-hunting in thrift stores, imagining the history behind old furniture. "Even if they can’t talk, they have soul," she says. Today, 90% of her home consists of vintage and second-hand pieces found at flea markets, online marketplaces, and antique stores. This approach not only supports sustainability but also adds a unique warmth and personality to her space.

TIPS FOR A COLORFUL HOME

For those eager to experiment with color but unsure where to begin, Aura Chloe shares these tips:

  1. Don’t be afraid to paint walls—you can always paint over them.
  2. Explore thrift stores for small, colorful details.
  3. Spray-paint furniture to give them new life.
  4. Use pillows, rugs, and textiles to create contrasts.
  5. Follow your intuition and design a home that feels right for you.
