AS SEEN IN

Trained at Design Academy Eindhoven, Maya and Fabian shape expressive objects where painting, drawing, and hand-building merge. What began during the 2020 lockdown as an exploration of airdry clay and resin evolved into a distinct craft language defined by bold colour, fluid lines, and sculptural presence. Their work balances function and artistic freedom, transforming everyday pieces into vibrant spatial statements.
SCULPTING LIGHT IN SPACE
Each floor lamp is built by hand, allowing the elongated stem and branching arms to develop through an intuitive, gesture-led process. The flowing silhouette feels almost animated, transforming a functional object into a vertical drawing within the room.
Stripes are carefully hand-painted to follow every contour, reinforcing depth and rhythm from base to shade. The incorporated toggle switch is seamlessly integrated, ensuring ease of use without disrupting the sculptural continuity.
EXPERIMENTAL STRUCTURE
The internal structure combines PEX tubing with hand-modelled airdry clay, creating stability while maintaining a fluid form. Acrylic paint is layered with precision, building contrast between brown and cream tones across the curved surface.
A clear coat resin seals and protects the lamp, intensifying colour depth and providing a smooth, durable finish. This layered material approach reflects an innovative ceramic language rooted in experimentation and refined craftsmanship.
MADE TO ORDER
Distinct from mass production, each product at MAK MISHO is handmade only after your order is placed. This conscientious approach ensures quality, reduces waste, and underscores our dedication to ethical production. Furthermore, every piece is uniquely crafted just for you, ensuring that no two pieces are exactly alike, providing you, the customer, with a truly personal touch from the artisan.
