The small Doodle pendant delivers bold character in a compact, sculptural form. Red and light blue stripes flow from the narrow top into a softly flared shade, accentuating its rhythmic geometry and graphic clarity. Trained at Design Academy Eindhoven, Maya and Fabian shape expressive objects where painting, drawing, and hand-building merge. What began during the 2020 lockdown as an exploration of airdry clay and resin evolved into a distinct craft language defined by bold colour, fluid lines, and sculptural presence. Their work balances function and artistic freedom, transforming everyday pieces into vibrant spatial statements.
A GRAPHIC ACCENT IN SPACE
Each pendant is hand-built, allowing its compact silhouette to emerge through an intuitive, gesture-led process. The smaller scale sharpens the interplay between proportion and pattern, transforming the lamp into a refined suspended sculpture.
Stripes are meticulously hand-painted to follow every contour, intensifying the contrast between red and light blue while enhancing depth and volume. The result is a dynamic yet balanced composition that shifts beautifully with light.
EXPERIMENTAL CERAMIC LANGUAGE
The structure combines PEX tubing with carefully shaped airdry clay, providing stability within its sculpted form. Layers of acrylic paint are applied with precision, achieving crisp lines and saturated colour across the surface.
A clear coat resin seals and protects the pendant, intensifying colour vibrancy while delivering a smooth, durable finish. This layered construction reflects an innovative material approach rooted in experimentation and refined craftsmanship.
