AS SEEN IN

Trained at Design Academy Eindhoven, Maya and Fabian shape expressive objects where painting, drawing, and hand-building merge. What began during the 2020 lockdown as an exploration of airdry clay and resin evolved into a distinct craft language defined by bold colour, fluid lines, and sculptural presence. Their work balances function and artistic freedom, transforming everyday pieces into vibrant spatial statements.
DRAWING IN THREE DIMENSIONS
Each lamp is hand-built through an intuitive process where gesture guides structure. The curved body emerges gradually, shaped and refined by hand to achieve its distinctive flowing profile. Painted stripes follow the contours precisely, reinforcing the sense of motion and turning the lamp into a three-dimensional drawing.
The surface is meticulously finished to highlight the contrast between red and light blue, creating depth and visual rhythm. An incorporated toggle switch is seamlessly integrated into the design, ensuring effortless operation without disturbing the sculptural expression.
INNOVATIVE COMPOSITION
The structure combines PEX tubing with carefully modelled airdry clay, forming a stable yet dynamic base. Layers of acrylic paint are applied by hand, allowing each stripe to maintain clarity, saturation, and sharp definition across the curved surface.
A clear coat resin seals and protects the lamp, enhancing the vibrancy of the colours while providing a smooth, durable finish. This layered material approach reflects an experimental practice rooted in adaptability and refined craftsmanship.
MADE TO ORDER
Distinct from mass production, each product at MAK MISHO is handmade only after your order is placed. This conscientious approach ensures quality, reduces waste, and underscores our dedication to ethical production. Furthermore, every piece is uniquely crafted just for you, ensuring that no two pieces are exactly alike, providing you, the customer, with a truly personal touch from the artisan.
