AS SEEN IN

Trained at Design Academy Eindhoven, Maya and Fabian shape expressive objects where painting, drawing, and hand-building merge. What began during the 2020 lockdown as an exploration of airdry clay and resin evolved into a distinct craft language defined by bold colour, fluid lines, and sculptural presence. Their work balances function and artistic freedom, transforming everyday pieces into vibrant spatial statements.
HAND-BUILT EXPRESSION
Each lamp is shaped by hand, guided by gesture rather than rigid geometry. The sweeping curve develops gradually, giving the piece its distinctive, almost animated posture. Painted stripes follow every contour precisely, reinforcing movement and turning the lamp into a three-dimensional drawing.
The surface is carefully refined to achieve clarity between olive oil and light lavender tones. An incorporated toggle switch is discreetly placed, ensuring intuitive use while preserving the sculptural integrity of the design.
EXPERIMENTAL CERAMIC LANGUAGE
The structure combines PEX tubing with hand-modelled airdry clay, creating stability within its flowing form. Layers of acrylic paint are applied by hand, allowing each stripe to remain crisp and vibrant across the curved silhouette.
A clear coat resin seals the surface, intensifying colour depth while providing a smooth and durable finish. This layered material approach reflects an innovative practice rooted in experimentation and refined craftsmanship.
MADE TO ORDER
Distinct from mass production, each product at MAK MISHO is handmade only after your order is placed. This conscientious approach ensures quality, reduces waste, and underscores our dedication to ethical production. Furthermore, every piece is uniquely crafted just for you, ensuring that no two pieces are exactly alike, providing you, the customer, with a truly personal touch from the artisan.
